Nursing Jurisprudence and Nursing Ethics
Texas Board of Nursing Rule 216.3(g)
All nurses must complete at least 2 contact hours of CNE relating to nursing jurisprudence and nursing ethics
before the end of every third two-year licensing period (applicable to licensing periods that began on or after January 1, 2014). The CNE course(s) must contain information related to:
the Texas Nursing Practice Act,
the Board's rules (including §217.11, Standards of Nursing Practice),
the Board's position statements,
principles of nursing ethics, and
professional boundaries.
Contact hours completed for this requirement do count towards completion of the 20 contact hours of CNE required for all nurses.
Certification may not be used to fulfill this requirement.
APRNs may not use CME to fulfill this requirement. Only CNE is acceptable.
Program Description: Become reacquainted with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, Texas BON rules and Position Statements.
Every nurse is responsible to know the Texas BON rules that apply to nursing practice. Also covered are ethical principles and professional boundaries.
Lisa Selman-Holman will take rules that every Texas nurse needs to know and practically apply those to home care.

designated quality measures and home health providers will compete nationally in their applicable size cohort, smaller-volume providers or larger-volume providers.
Financial Success starts with clinical and operational best practices. In order to ensure that agencies do not incur a negative revenue adjustment, CMS has granted
a one-year pre-implementation phase for Value Based Purchasing. Organizations should use this year to focus on quality value-based performance metrics that will
ensure success under the new revenue adjustment model. Having a quality plan that addresses both outcome and process measures as well as patient satisfaction is
the foundation to success under VBP. This presentation is a must for all areas of home health to include financial managers, clinical staff and operational leaders

Brian Bruenderman brings almost 20 years of M&A experience to Stoneridge Partners - nearly a decade has been devoted exclusively to companies serving the health and human services arena.
Brian Bruenderman joined Stoneridge Partners after a successful stint as Director of Business Development for Almost Family, a leading provider of home health nursing, rehabilitation and personal care services with over 250 locations in 15 states. During his tenure, despite much uncertainty in the home health industry at the time, Almost Family acquired $160 million in annual revenues, including the largest transaction in the company’s history.
Prior to Almost Family, Bruenderman was the Senior Director of Development for ResCare, Inc., a national human services company with more than $1.6 billion in revenue and operations in 42 states. Bruenderman's strategic approach to developing new markets through selective acquisitions led to $350 million in growth for ResCare and launched the company into the Fortune 1000. Today, he has been involved in the purchase of over 125 health and human service companies.
Bruenderman received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville. While in college, he purchased several small businesses and credits his later success to that experience. His business background and legal education give him the skills and perspective to successfully negotiate transactions all the way through closing. Specifically, his almost two decades of involvement with strategic buyers gives him a unique insight into how they approach valuation, diligence and negotiation. This combination of education and experience makes him a valuable addition to any transaction.

Joe Lynch has more than 30 years of healthcare expertise.

and business development. After receiving his Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi, Joe began his career
working closely with corporate management to successfully grow OrNda Healthcorp’s (now Tenet’s) home health care presence. In 1997, he
founded Reachout Home Care, a Medicare and private duty agency, where he served as co-owner and CEO. Over the next 17 years, Joe
steadily grew Reachout through both acquisition and organic growth into three operating companies in Dallas and Houston, employing
more than 170 health care workers. In 2014, he sold his company to Humana. Throughout his career, he has been a leader in revenue
growth and expansion via start-ups, acquisitions and organic growth through marketing and sales in both public and private companies. He
has worked in the health care industry for decades and brings his vast experience along with a high degree of professionalism to each transaction.
