home health, and personal care, supportive palliative care, assisted living, and day activity and health services industries. As a health care consultant,
Rosalind is passionate about assisting entity leaders to understand and overcome compliance challenges while advocating for quality of life and quality of
care for clients, residents, and patients. She continues to analyze state and federal legislation for impact to providers and consumers, review state
regulations, develop and deliver continuing education and training to providers, and provide guidance to industry leaders through state and federal
survey preparation activities, such as mock surveys and leadership mentoring. Rosalind is a subject matter expert for federal/nationwide standards
and possesses a keen understanding of accreditation for home health and hospice care. Rosalind is well-versed in the regulations for the settings

Program Description: Many agencies are looking for more and more ways to trim the expenses from their overhead and
therefore recognize a stronger bottom line profit. One significant cost savings they take advantage of is outsourcing work that can easily be outsourced while
leaving the owners and operators in control of their businesses. There are many back office functions that can be outsourced such as payroll, billing and QA – but
accounting is an often overlooked back office function that can also be easily outsourced to provide the agency a better bottom line, reduced administrative
staff costs and less back office management needed. Not only can this be a cost savings but it can also really simplify the operations – less staff to manage
and knowing that someone who is skilled at that activity is handling it.
In this session we will discuss which scenarios make the most sense to outsource the accounting function of the agency, how it works and what
solutions are out there to assist in finding the right mix of outsourcing the work but still maintaining control.

This program reviews the epidemiology of pain followed by a physiologic-based discussion to debate whether or not persons with dementia experience pain differently than cognitively intact individuals. Viewers will be able to develop tools to comprehensively assess pain in persons with dementia adapting an integrated approach that includes self-report (when possible), consideration of co-morbid conditions, pain behaviors, proxy report, and an empiric analgesic trial. These tools are followed by a series of patient cases that reinforce the concepts detailed in the presentation. Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to: Discuss the problem of pain in older adults with dementia. Manage challenges associated with pain recognition and assessment in persons with dementia. Evaluate strategies for assessing pain in the person with dementia, including those unable to self-report. Dr. Shega's research focuses on enhancing the care and outcomes of persons with cognitive impairment through the integration of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.
