Program Description: Home Health’s Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Model is the latest of the Impact Act Volume to Value reforms to affect how we develop and deliver care. By redefining HH quality in terms of Pay-for-Performance (P4P), VBP seeks to improve care efficiency. As a result, traditional HH Care production and management processes fail to achieve VBP-based quality baselines and the related bonus payment.

When reviewing the HH VBP model, it quickly becomes apparent that the depth and specificity employed to track, define, and reward qualified care extends well beyond the current level of management in most Home Health agencies. The complexity of VBP contrasts starkly with both the Star Ratings and HHCAHPS models we know, and it is much more difficult to achieve success. Finally, HH VPB will deliver bonus payments to the top 10% of HH Providers nationally, and few if any Providers could hope to qualify for the bonus without a major VBP-based quality initiative in their agencies. This progressive presentation tackles the HH VBP reform from all angles for success to assure your V2V performance produces newly identified outcome levels.

Reporting of Perceived Bias
Bias, as defined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC COA/LSNA) is the “tendency or inclination to cause partiality, favoritism, or influence.” Commercial bias may occur when a CNE activity promotes one or more product(s) (drugs, devices, services, software, hardware, etc.). This definition is not all inclusive and participants may use their own interpretation in deciding if a presentation is biased. The ANCC COA is interested in the opinions and perceptions of participants at approved CNE activities, especially in the presence of actual or perceived bias in continuing education. Therefore, ANCC invites participants to access their “ANCC Accreditation Feedback Line” to report any noted bias or conflict of interest in the education activity. The toll free number is 1(866) 262-9730.
