Are your agency's HIS scores lower than you expected? Are you trying to figure out how you could be less than 100%?
You are not alone!
- TAHC&H Virtual Event | Winter Conference | Recorded for On-Demand Access
- Presentation Date | February 9, 2021
Program Description: Are your agency's HIS scores lower than you expected? Are you trying to figure out how you could be less than 100%?
You are not alone! Hospice agencies across the nation are surprised that their comprehensive assessment composite, as well as some of the individual scores are lower than expected
per CMS data. Did you know that even if you answer positively to some of these process measures, CMS has "Validation questions" embedded in the HIS to ensure your answers represent
the measure, as CMS defines it. Literally, you may say "Yes, we screened the patient for pain"- but if any of the following questions - date, rating or type of standardized tool are
not answered correctly, per the measure, CMS will change your answer to "No, we did not screen the patient for pain". This presentation uncovers these validation questions, and provides
a thorough understanding of the measures, per CMS guidance, and how to be successful 100% of the time!

Reporting of Perceived Bias
Bias, as defined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC COA/LSNA) is the “tendency or inclination to cause partiality, favoritism, or influence.”
Commercial bias may occur when a CNE activity promotes one or more product(s) (drugs, devices, services, software, hardware, etc.). This definition is not all inclusive and participants may use
their own interpretation in deciding if a presentation is biased. The ANCC COA is interested in the opinions and perceptions of participants at approved CNE activities, especially in the presence
of actual or perceived bias in continuing education. Therefore, ANCC invites participants to access their “ANCC Accreditation Feedback Line” to report any noted bias or conflict of interest in the
education activity. The toll free number is 1(866) 262-9730.
