Program Description: TULIP is the new web-based licensure system for the Health and Humans Services Commission. The Texas Unified Licensure Information Portal is designed for licensed long-term care providers. The system is designed to be more efficient, including electronic payments and instant access to licensure information. This presentation will provide information on the new system and how to gain access and where to find additional resources.

Program Learning Outcome: Participants will actively engage in the learning activity and indicate an intent to change their practice by utilizing the Texas Unified Licensure Portal (TULIP) to improve efficiencies in submitting long-term care licensure applications, making electronic payments, and accessing status of licensure information.

About the Presenter:
Stephanie Allred
obtained her doctorate of experimental psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a major in cognitive psychology and a minor in statistics. Her focus of study was ambiguity in the English language. She began her career with the state as a professor at the University of Texas at Tyler, teaching various psychology and statistics courses. Following, she worked for Rusk State Hospital for 17 years. Rusk State Hospital is a state owned psychiatric hospital and is part of the Health and Human Services Commission. Her positions at the hospital varied from Data Specialist, Director of Training, Standards Compliance Officer, to Director of Quality Management. Currently, she is the Director of Long-term Care Regulatory Licensing and Credentialing for the Health and Human Services Commission. She is responsible for the provider licensure and certification, credentialing, and data/records management. Going forward, she welcomes the challenge to better serve the residents of the state of Texas.

About the Presenter:
Trent Banks
is currently a Manager with Health Human Services Commission (HHSC), Licensing and Certification. He has served as an Investigator VI with Professional Credentialing Enforcement Unit, Regulatory Services Division with Health Human Service Commission. He previously served as an Investigator IV in the PCEU at the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Prior to that, he was an investigator at the Texas Department of Juvenile Justice’s Office of Inspector General. Trent was previously a Youth Rights Specialist in the Office of General Counsel at the Texas Youth Commission where he worked to ensure the Rights and Safety of juvenile offenders. Trent has a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Southwest Texas State University.
