Program Description: This session includes a brief overview of the telemonitoring benefit in Texas, recent changes to the HCPCS codes and billing methodology used for these services, and an update on legislative activities which could affect the future of the benefit. This webinar is 60 minutes and includes a Q & A session that follows.

  • Participants will actively engage in the activity and indicate an intent to change or enhance their practice by identifying best practices in telemonitoring regarding patient rights, implementation of telemonitoring, and use of updated procedure codes and billing methods to ensure optimal care of patients receiving telemonitoring services.

About the Presenter:
Heather Kennedy
is TAHC&H’s Policy Research & Special Projects Manager and has a diverse background in project management, research, and policy in both the public and private sectors, specializing in Medicaid, insurance, and financial services. She has worked as an independent consultant providing project management and strategic planning for Texas Medicaid managed care program procurements, as well as serving as lead program staff in Medicaid Managed Care Operations at HHSC. She has worked as a statistical analyst for the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership, in addition to managing special projects and training for the Fiscal Management Division of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Heather holds a Master of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on Medical Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA.
