Program Description: Hear first-hand from HHSC Training Specialist, Idalia Diaz, on the steps each and every HHCSA should take to prepare for Hurricane season, including changes related to COVID-19 involvement. Emergency Preparedness is not new; however, there have been updates and refreshers and Idalia presents all aspects of what agencies should know, update and be prepared for as hurricane season is well upon us and agencies not only are dealing with this reality but COVID 19 as well.

About the Presenter(s):
Idalia Diaz
is the HCSSA Joint Trainer with Health & Human Services Policy, Rules & Training who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Shortly after obtaining her license, she was employed by the San Antonio State Supported Living Center as an RN Case Manager, then later transferred to DADS Regulatory Services where she was a Nurse Surveyor and Death Reviewer. After spending some time with the regulatory team, she decided to teach and was a theory and clinical faculty member at a Vocational Nursing program, where she taught various subjects from fundamentals of nursing to mental health and leadership.
