Program Description:The next step to understanding the Emergency Preparedness Regulations is to determine how to prepare and present evidence of your compliance. In this presentation Kay Hollers functions as a surveyor and Jennifer Gibson Osburn functions as an agency administrator. Agencies will be able to learn what to expect from the surveyor and responses from the agency administrator that satisfy the survey process. They also present strategies agencies can use to be comfortable they have put their best foot forward at survey time. Special emphasis will be placed on documentation of actions taken in risk assessment, patient classification systems, HIPAA, patient evacuation, and testing of the plan.

Program Learning Outcome: Participants will actively engage in the activity and indicate an intent to change their practice by ensuring their agency policy and procedures reflect the proper application of the state and federal regulations as they pertain to emergency preparedness to ensure both compliance and patient safety.
