An important presentation with options for HHAs can contribute a positive impact.
This presentation reviews the history of why and when unplanned hospital readmissions of seniors became an important issue for U.S. policy makers, and for home health agencies. It also provides a review of the healthcare system response to the focus on unplanned readmissions. Researchers across the country, and around the globe, have published innumerable papers on the phenomenon and includes a discusssion of the four major focus areas of that research and what we can learn from their work. And finally, it looks forward and discusses options for how home health agencies can continue to have a positive impact on reducing unplanned readmissions.
This program meets continuing education requirements for Administrators and Alternates under Texas HCSSA licensing regulations.
