About the Presenter(s):
Dr. Linda Tavel
serves as National Hospice Medical Director for Accentcare Hospice and Hospice Medical Director for Texas Home Health and Hospice in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where she trained alongside chaplain trainees at the Clinical Pastoral Education program. She obtained an MBA from University of Houston a t Clear Lake in 1999. She has practiced hospice and palliative medicine since 2001—full time since 2004. Her interests are in performance improvement, patient safety as it pertains to the care of hospice and palliative care patients, and in decision making tools for advance care planning. She also has passions for creating a healing environment. Dr. Tavel is a proud native Houstonian and lives with a Geriatrician, a Web Designer, and a cat.
