Program Description: A good budget is the foundation of any strong financial plan. It requires a range of perspectives within home care and hospice organizations to set realistic (not optimistic) plans. Budgeting exercises must consider team functions and goals, allowing necessary time to gain input and share an understanding of how the budget can foster consistent operational performance. This presentation outlines key principles for participation and consensus with financial goals, excellence in documentation, and how everyone can contribute to an effective budget and plan.

Program Learning Outcome: Participants will actively engage in the learning activity and indicate an intent to change or enhance their practice by identifying how a realistic budget can enhance operational and clinical performance.
