About the Presenter:
Irma Jacobson
is a commercial litigator and administrative law attorney who regularly practices in state, federal, and administrative law courts. She graduated from West Point in 2004 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005-2006. Irma has extensive experience representing clients in the health care industry and excels at providing legal solutions to complex problems by tailoring strategies to fit each client’s specific need. She can assist with data privacy requests, both requesting disclosure and defending against disclosure involving Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA).

Irma represents nursing home facilities, assisted living facilities, and home and community support services agencies (HCSSAs) regarding compliance and licensure actions. She has been essential in securing favorable results for long-term care facilities while defending against license revocations and appealing Medicare/Medicaid terminations and state and federal civil monetary penalties. She has extensive experience advising long-term care facilities concerning audits by Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs), Medicaid Integrity Contractors (MICs), Zone Program Integrity Contractor (ZPIC), and other Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement matters. Her practice also includes representing benefit plans, providers, employers, claims administrators, and insurers in disputes concerning the availability of mental health and substance abuse coverage under ERISA-governed plans.
