Program Description:Complying with HIPAA requirements isn’t always easy, and hospices have some
unique complications. There are often a number of family members, unique and intricate family dynamics and often stressful
family situations; communication amongst staff working remotely but as a team; volunteers; working with records after a
patient’s death; etc. This program provides an overview of the HIPAA requirements and application in the hospice setting.

- Learners will actively engage in the learning activity and indicate an intent to change their practice by implementing HIPAA regulations as they pertain specifically to hospice patients.

in health care compliance and health care privacy compliance. She was a provider executive for 13 years and began consulting at the national level in 2009
specializing in regulatory and accrediting organization standards interpretation, all aspects of healthcare provider operations, and compliance. She has worked
with multiple state and national associations and has written numerous articles and provided numerous presentations on these topics.
