Before that she was employed by DADS Regulatory Services where she was a Nurse Surveyor and Death Reviewer. Idalia Diaz is the HCSSA Joint Trainer with Health & Human Services Policy, Rules & Training who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Shortly after obtaining her license, she was employed by the San Antonio State Supported Living Center as an RN Case Manager, then later transferred to DADS Regulatory Services where she was a Nurse Surveyor and Death Reviewer. After spending some time with the regulatory team, she decided to teach and was a theory and clinical faculty member at a Vocational Nursing program, where she taught various subjects from fundamentals of nursing to mental health and leadership.
