This program includes discussion and review of Medicare Home Health claims data and how it supports the arguments
that will be made. The presenter starts with a quick look at the current state of the industry and some of the
new delivery models that are requiring reassessment of how home health is delivered (ACOs, Bundled Payments, etc...)
There is a review and trend of the relevant claims data metrics for the US, Texas, and several local Texas markets.
Included is a discussion on the ongoing processes employed by Accountable Care Organizations and hospital systems of
vetting post-acute care (PAC) providers for inclusion in preferred provider narrow networks. The program concludes

TAHC&H Faculty/Presenter: Duane Blackwell, CEO, National Home Health Analytics
About the Presenter: Duane Blackwell has been in home health since August, 1997 when he was
hired as CEO of Thompson Home Health, a multi-provider Louisiana-based home health company. At that time, the industry was undergoing a
dramatic transition from a cost-based system to prospective payment. Duane’s previous career in commercial banking seemed a good fit for
what was to be a tectonic shift in the way home health was delivered. In 2003, he assisted in the successful sale of Thompson to an equity
investment firm, staying on as CEO for five years following the sale.
In 2008, Duane established SOSO Solutions, LLC, a consulting practice focused primarily on the serving needs
of post-acute care providers, including home health and hospice companies. SOSO’s areas of focus include strategic planning, financial
management, the management of change, and sales and business development. SOSO continues to serve a client base centered in the Gulf South..
In 2015, Duane partnered with Dr. Cordt Kassner and Dr Warren Hebert to establish National Home Health Analytics;
a Medicare Clams and Cost Report research and consulting company focused on delivering industry transparency. A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Duane
earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Program Description: This presentation highlights how home health agencies can better leverage their in-demand wound care specialist(s)
with telehealth technology. Productivity is maximized as one wound care specialist can provide guidance virtually to all caregivers in the field. This is especially important in
rural areas where nurses and specialists can spend a lot of time driving instead of being able to see and treat patients. Moreover, connecting a home health nurse with a wound
certified nurse is beneficial in bridging the gap between training, clinician and patient education, and wound assessment. You will learn how agencies can enable a
better, safer, and more profitable way to evaluate and support proper wound healing.

Program Description: This exciting QA program utilizes UR
mechanisms employed by hospitals to manage care. Agencies that have implemented
this methodology have enhanced clinical outcomes and improved productivity.

Care Outcomes in 2009.
Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:
Describe the history of the Medicare Home Health benefit

Social Media in the Workplace:

§558.260[a][2]development and interpretation of agency policies
Faculty: Barron, David &
Wilson, Charles
Unless you've had your head stuck in the sand, you've seen the
impact social media has in the world today. From Hollywood to the office cubical, everyone is talking
about social media. Whether you like it or not, many of your customers, employees, and business partners
are spending large amounts of time on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and other social media sites and are
talking about your company, your employees, and the workplace. Many companies have not developed a
comprehensive policy to address this dramatic (and likely enduring) change in how people communicate
and interact. This program covers what every employer should consider in drafting an effective and
realistic social media policy.
Are you responsible for what your employees say on Facebook?
Can you/should you limit employee participation on social media?
Is it ok for supervisors to "friend" their employees?
Is there any liability for management monitoring employee social media sites?
Is this an invasion of privacy?
Do you need to seek permission?
What are the legal issues under union, wage and hour, and other areas of employment
law arising from the social media phenomenon?
Search the web and you will find many articles (like
this one) warning businesses of the pitfalls of social media -
for example; how easy you can be sued if using information gained through social media for a hiring decision. You will find answers to these questions plus many other informative and practical suggestions to
help your company manage both the pitfalls and opportunities associated with social media in the workplace.
This is a MUST VIEW for every agency owner, administrator and HR manager.
Program Goal: This program allows the viewer to understand the top ten issues
affecting the use of social media in the workplace and how to develop appropriate operational policies to guide its use in the workplace.
