Grace Werckle has worked in the Homecare Industry for over 27 years. She has had the wonderful opportunity to serve in
multiple roles at Home Health Agencies fulfilling positions varying from Administrator to DON/Clinical Supervisor to Case Management to Field RN. With this, Grace was able to provide focus
and specialty in QAPI, OASIS documentation and training and Regulatory Compliance. She has held both OASIS and Coding certifications in the past years.
Prior to joining TAHCH, Grace served as a contributing member and a Committee chair on several committees including Clinical Practice and Medicare/Medicaid and was honored to receive the
Mary Jo Gabbert Nursing Achievement Award. Grace currently serves on the TCNWS Advisory Committee and serves as the Primary Nurse Planner for TAHCH’s Approved Provider Unit. Grace received

A case study is presented focusing on care of the patient with a specific primary diagnosis and
differences between caring for the patient under PPS versus PDGM. Key areas of focus will be managing
inappropriate LUPAs under PDGM, cost effective approaches for improving functional status of patients
under PDGM, and recommended metrics to track under PDGM.

Christopher Attaya joined SHP in 2014 after spending 28 years in executive

data. Prior to SHP, Chris was the CFO at the VNA of Boston and had worked at Partners Health Care at Home as CFO and CEO. He received a B.A. in Public

About the Presenter:
Sue Payne joined the Corridor team in December 2016 as part of the Transpirus
acquisition where she served as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Services. In her role, Sue is responsible for clinical quality and business review
to assure client satisfaction. She also serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer.
Sue has over 25 years in home care operations and strategic leadership. Prior to her role at Corridor, Sue was the Vice President of Home Health at
Advanced Home Care and at Life Care at Home, both of which are multi-state home care providers. Prior to that, she was the Administrative Director at
Bon Secours Home Care which is a multi-site hospital based home care agency. She has experience with hospital based, long term care and privately held home
care companies. Sue was the recipient of the 2011 Leadership Award from the Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina. She has presented
nationally at Press Ganey, Visiting Nurses Association of America, American Congress of Healthcare Executives, and State Associations on topics such as
preventing avoidable readmissions, value based purchasing, staffing retention and early careerist mentoring. She currently serves as a VNAA board member
and is on the VNAA Governance Committee.

Program Description: Marketing in healthcare is an increasingly complex and dangerous endeavor.
Laws and regulations fail to provide clear guidance as to what the agency can and can’t do as it relates to hiring and training a sales force,
developing sales and promotion campaigns using electronic media, participating on community health fairs, and most importantly, making contact

Program Description: Health care facilities are faced with
the need to grow their businesses through the sharing of information about programs and services in an
effective manner. But the rules for implementing an effective marketing program in health care are
limited by several state and federal laws including the Prohibition of Solicitation Law, the
Anti-Kickback Law, Gifts to Beneficiaries, Stark, and other rules implementing by contract and
program directives. Failure to comply with these rules can result in disallowance of a referral,
monetary penalties, loss of licensure, and yes, even imprisonment in some instances. The presenter
explores marketing prohibitions by addressing what an agency “can’t do” under specific regulations
as well as activities that the agency “can do” to promote its business in compliance the law.

Learn how to respond to these record requests as well as the subsequent audit findings. The timelines for responses and the
recoupment process are defined. This presentation describes likely audit risks for home health agencies and how to
monitor those risks, including analyzing PEPPER reports. It will not only assist in providing a checklist for the
documentation required to be sent in, but also suggest a checklist of things to review in the chart before sending it in.

Program Description: Transitions in care would seem on the surface
to be a "non-issue" in hospice medicine, but with increasing complexity and segmentation of care for the
seriously ill, patients often enter hospice from the acute care system with unrealistic expectations of
what is needed and what will be provided. Often unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations
result, as well as demands for services not part of the standard hospice plan of care. This program
explores not only addressing the expectations of patients and their families, but also addressing the
increasing expectations of payers. A vision for the future of optimal care of the seriously ill is
presented, acknowledging the daunting steps needed for the evolution of a hospice organization towards
a "full service" model, as our organizations enter into a time of increased demand, regulatory uncertainty,
quality-based scrutiny, and fiscal constraint.

About the Presenter:
J. Robert Parkey is a sixth-generation native of the Wichita Falls area, and
received his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and then completed his residency in Family Medicine
at the University of Oklahoma campus in Tulsa, where he served as Chief Resident. In 2010, he completed a Masters degree in Theological Studies
from the University of Dallas in Irving, with a personal emphasis in Biomedical Ethics.
Dr. Parkey practiced rural medicine in Henrietta, Texas for 17 years, but found a special love for the care of the elderly,
those with dementia, and for patients with terminal and life-limiting illnesses, expanding his medical specialization and joining the medical staff of
Hospice of Wichita Falls in 2008, then closing his rural practice in 2013. He is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Academy
of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care, the American Geriatrics Society, the American Society for
Bioethics and Humanities, and the Catholic Medical Association.
His “spare time” is filled caring for his family ranch in Clay County, and trying to keep up with his wife Katie
(a Registered Nurse who helps him run his private practice and who serves in a number of volunteer capacities in the area) and their three
daughters. His hobbies include fishing and literature, and he is a member of the Wichita Falls Poetry Society, the Texas Poetry Society, and
the Academy of American Poets.
Dr. Parkey holds board certifications in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Family Medicine, and board
certification by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. He also holds board certification from the American Board of
Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.

Program Description: Hospice Election Statement changes became effective October 2020.
This presentation reviews the detailed changes to the Hospice Election Statement that are effective October 1, 2020. In addition to the Election
Statement itself, there will also be an addendum requirement that will include many clinicians needing to fully understand what is allowed and not
allowed under the Medicare Benefit and the regulations to support that decision. This presentation assists in implementation of
these new requirements. In addition there are sample Election Statements and Addendums provided.

enhance their practice by changing their election statements and complying with addendum requirement.

Melinda Gaboury, with more than 28 years in home care, has over 18 years of executive speaking and
educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement
Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PDGM training, billing, collections, case-mix
calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. UPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry.
She is currently serving on the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group and is Associate Director on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors.
Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-D1.
