[3861] Guarantee Your Success with HH VBP
This progressive presentation tackles the HH VBP reform from all angles for success to assure your V2V performance produces newly identified outcome levels.
Presentation Info:
TAHC&H Event | 55th Annual Conference | Rich-Media Presentation Capture | Online On-Demand Access
Presentation Date | September 10, 2024
Program Description: Home Health’s Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Model is the latest of the Impact Act Volume to
Value reforms to affect how we develop and deliver care. By redefining HH quality in terms of Pay-for-Performance (P4P), VBP seeks to improve care efficiency.
As a result, traditional HH Care production and management processes fail to achieve VBP-based quality baselines and the related bonus payment.
When reviewing the HH VBP model, it quickly becomes apparent that the depth and specificity employed to track, define,
and reward qualified care extends well beyond the current level of management in most Home Health agencies. The complexity of VBP contrasts starkly
with both the Star Ratings and HHCAHPS models we know, and it is much more difficult to achieve success. Finally, HH VPB will deliver bonus payments
to the top 10% of HH Providers nationally, and few if any Providers could hope to qualify for the bonus without a major VBP-based quality initiative
in their agencies. This progressive presentation tackles the HH VBP reform from all angles for success to assure your V2V performance produces newly identified outcome levels.

[3837] HHCAHPS: Patient Experience vs Patient Satisfaction and Why it matters in HHVBP
In-depth look at the HHCAHPS survey to learn how scores are interpreted, their impact, and how to improve your agency’s performance.
Presentation Info:
TAHC&H Event | Winter Conference | Fort Worth | Rich-Media Presentation Capture for Your Online On-Demand Access
Presentation Date | February 22, 2024
Presentation Track | Medicare Home Health
Program Description: With the introduction of the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) Model, there's a direct financial implication for agencies based on their
Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) measures. It's vital for home health providers to recognize that "Patient Experience" is as crucial, if not more so, than the conventional view of
HHCAHPS as simply a "Patient Satisfaction" indicator. A detailed examination of HHCAHPS reveals that an impressive 17 out of 19 questions zero in on patient experience, underlining its increasing significance.
This focus resonates with the trends we've seen in acute care settings in the past few years. Elevating your agency's HHCAHPS scores holds significance because it indicates not just patient contentment but can also
catalyze enhancements in quality, influence reimbursement and financial support, establish a competitive edge, guarantee adherence to regulations, furnish ongoing insights, enhance staff involvement, and
foster a culture of accountability and transparency. Ultimately, this endeavor contributes to improved patient care and outcomes. In this program you will receive insights into the specific HHCAHPS questions

Bias, as defined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC COA/LSNA) is the “tendency or inclination to cause partiality, favoritism, or influence.”
Commercial bias may occur when a CNE activity promotes one or more product(s) (drugs, devices, services, software, hardware, etc.). This definition is not all inclusive and participants may use
their own interpretation in deciding if a presentation is biased. The ANCC COA is interested in the opinions and perceptions of participants at approved CNE activities, especially in the presence
of actual or perceived bias in continuing education. Therefore, ANCC invites participants to access their “ANCC Accreditation Feedback Line” to report any noted bias or conflict of interest in the
education activity. The toll free number is 1(866) 262-9730.

§558.260[a][6]risk assessment and management
§558.260[a][8]skills for working with clients, families, and other professional service providers
Faculty: Smith, Ellie
Program Description: With changes to Medicare, increased
fraud scrutiny and desire for increased revenue streams, agencies look to pediatric programs to diversify.
Technology is certainly making management of children with Tracheostomies,
Ventilator dependence and other complex needs easier, and reimbursement for PDN looks attractive, but liability,
regulatory requirements, staff competency, documentation, and care management are necessary at more than basic levels
to meet quality of care and safety needs of these medically complex children. This program addresses key issues in delivery of compliant and competent
pediatric services to medically fragile children.
What are the high risk skills?
How do you determine competency?
Who are qualified staff? What are key clinical skills to manage trach and vent dependent children at home?
What are documentation challenges to address?
What is enough supervision for safe delivery of care?
How can positive outcomes be best achieved?
Would "minimum standards" be enough for your child?
Program Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the viewer will be able to:
Identify three methods of determining nursing competence.
Evaluate the reference for Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA) minimum standards for licensure relating to staff.
Analyze three key elements of a compliant pediatric tracheostomy and ventilator competency program.
Identify three areas of high risk in providing pediatric tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Demonstrate pediatric nursing ventilator essential skills and competency.
Describe three key behaviors to observe during Registered Nurse (RN) supervisory and reassessment visits to children with tracheostomies.
Evaluate challenges to implementation of a pediatric ventilator competency program.
