Continuing Education programs are offered for (1) a designated Administrator or Alternate who must comply with TAC §558.260, and (2) a prior administrator or alternate not currently designated but maintaining compliance with TAC §558.260, and (3) anyone who wants to improve their knowledge on a broad range of topics specific to TX HCSSAs.
Continuing Education programs come from TAHC&H conferences & events to address a broad range of topics specific to Texas HCSSAs administrative responsibilities. Programs are added throughout the year as each conference/event concludes. All programs provide TX HCSSA Administration CE credits and many also provide Nurse CE. All programs are à la carte, that is, you have the flexibility to browse and order programs that suit your specific needs and are applicable to your role and responsibility. Over the last year, CMS has been digging into their proverbial treasure chest of regulations to implement new rules for Hospices.
After a strong push-back from industry associations, the new Hospice Special Focus Program (SFP) has been placed on hold for the time being.
The new HOPE tool is following the HHA OASIS structure to provide new assessment time points and measures based on new data items.
CAHPS Hospice now has fewer questions including a new option for web-based surveys, a mode in use by Medicare Advantage patients.
There is a lot to unpack with all these changes for FY 2025. Join our speakers as they review these planned
changes and how Hospices should be evaluating the best way to implement.

includes the United Kingdom, Finland, Canada, and Australia. Angela performs operations improvement assessments and compliance-focused reviews of home health and hospice documentation,
including audits and appeals related to the OIG and program integrity contractors as well as compliance risk assessments related to mergers and acquisitions.
She is actively involved in the educational and advocacy activities of NAHC and NHPCO and is a member of the HHFMA Innovation, NAHC Education and Women in
Leadership Committees. Angela has been a presenter at NAHC and NHPCO, as well as other industry national and state organizations and has been published in the Nursing Administration
Quarterly and other industry publications. Before entering the post-acute industry, she served in acute care management positions and was a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse

At Texas Children’s Hospital he developed a rapid amino acid assay used to perform protein clamps and measure insulin sensitivity in children with diabetes. He led the sale of the company to Kryptiq Corporation before joining Baylor College of Medicine to lead their clinical information systems implementation (Epic, iSite PACS). Phil joined Greater Houston Healthconnect (an HIE) in May 2012 and served as a pioneer for interoperability in Houston and the Southeast Texas region. Phil introduced and integrated diagnostic image sharing with the goal of reducing duplicate tests and reducing patient exposure to unnecessary radiation. As CEO of C3HIE he continued to expand HIE services across Texas through collaboration with community partners and a focus on value and delivery through account management. Since January 2025 Phil is CEO of Texas Health Services Authority, a statutory organization to promote and enable interoperability across Texas. Phil has a major focus on usability after many years working with physicians – if it isn’t easy they won’t use it – and on patient engagement. He believes that consumers will drive the future of healthcare.
