Continuing Education is perfect for a (1) designated Administrator or Alternate who must comply with TAC §558.260, and (2) a prior administrator or alternate not currently designated but maintaining compliance with TAC §558.260, and (3) anyone who wants to improve their knowledge on a broad range of topics specific to TX HCSSAs.

Continuing Education programs are added throughout the year soon after TAHC&H conferences/events conclude. All programs are à la carte, that is, you have the flexibility to browse and order programs that suit your specific needs and are applicable to your role and responsibility.

Kurt Baumgartel is Executive Vice President of Home-Based Care for Compassus’ care continuum across Home Health, Home Infusion Palliative and Hospice. He joined Compassus in 2020 at a pivotal period of growth for the company as Compassus and Ascension became partners in Ascension at Home. Baumgartel has extensive experience leading home health and hospice organizations gained over more than 20 years in leadership in the health care industry. Previously Baumgartel was chief operating officer of Evolution Health and Ascension at Home. Before that he held executive positions that include president of Allegheny Health Network’s Home Health and Hospice division, president and chief operating officer of Celtic Healthcare, and president of subsidiary Celtic Living Assistance Services. Baumgartel is active in several professional associations, has been published in trade periodicals and invited as faculty at professional conferences on various home health care topics. He completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of business. Laura Barnett serves as a Vice President of Interoperability Sales. In this role, she drives the growth of Axxess’ partnerships and integrations to cultivate our partners and clients’ success. Prior to this role, she served on both the marketing and communications teams at Axxess. Before joining Axxess in January 2018, Laura previously served as the Vice President at communications consulting firm Spaeth Communications, where she helped execute the communications plan for the largest political action committee supporting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. At Spaeth, Laura also coached C-level executives on media training and presentation skills.
