Program Description: Some of the biggest changes in home health and hospice pandemic plans have been presented since the introduction of COVID-19 into our world.

She has worked in healthcare for over 25 years in many different settings including acute care, physician office, home health care and residential services. She received her LVN from Cooke County College in 1987,
Associates Degree in Nursing from North Central Texas College in 1991 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from The University of Texas, Austin in 2003. She is also a Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse (CDDN).
Her current responsibilities include providing education, training and clinical support for the Home Health and IDD programs in Texas. She also serves as Immediate Past President of the Texas Association of Home Care and Hospice.
Jennifer has a vast range of expertise in the areas of operations, due diligence, QA, clinical, state and federal regulations, compliance and investigations.

About the Presenters:
Cheryl Adams RN, BSN, MBA with 40 years of clinical nursing and healthcare executive experience. Cheryl has been the
administrator of At-Home Health Care of Sparta Community Hospital since its inception in 1996. Cheryl is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining the business plan for the
hospital based home health agency known as At-Home Health Care. The agency under her direction has a history of multiple deficiency free surveys, a reduction in acute care hospitalization
rate, improved patient satisfaction and implementation of a telehealth program. Cheryl is credentialed as a Home Health ICD-10 Coder and OASIS Specialist. Cheryl is committed to having a
voice for the home care industry and the people that are served. She feels it is important that leaders of home care ensure access to care but also quality of care to those we serve all
while staying compliant with rules and regulations of home health. With the implementation of the pilot program of Pre-claim Review in IL, Cheryl has succeeded in achieving a 100% affirmation
rate through the education and implementation of processes to ensure accurate, complete documentation.
Sara Ratcliffe serves as executive director of the Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council (IHHC) working with its Board and our team to deliver
exceptional member services, quality educational opportunities, industry leadership and advocacy on public policy issues. Sara has successfully lobbied Congress and the Centers for Medicare
and Medicaid Services to benefit the IHHC membership. She has expertise in large group processes and thrives on coalition building, creative solutions and working toward consensus. A one-time
high school art teacher, Sara earned a BFA in Art History from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Sara serves as the Treasurer of the Central Illinois Foodbank and is a member of
the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Young Philanthropists.

disabilities who are aging out of pediatric Medicaid programs. Each person’s rights for personal autonomy, liberty, freedom and dignity is one that is to be respected and supported.
By law, each adult or emancipated minors presumed to be competent to make decisions for him/herself. Many families need guidance and education to navigate this pathway successfully
with their loved one. Knowing what options are available to families for their loved ones is a difficult path to manage, but with the information provided in this session, agency
leaders will know what resources are available and how to guide families to the legal path that is best for them.

Terry Anstee is a staff attorney at Disability Rights Texas, the federally-funded protection and
advocacy organization charged with protecting the rights of persons with disabilities in Texas. In this role, Terry has represented many children in fair hearings on
a variety of Medicaid issues, including Comprehensive Care Program services and Medically Dependent Children Program services. Terry is also a Registered Nurse and
his nursing experience helps him to understand client’s medical issues and clinical records. He has dealt with Health and Human Services, Texas Medicaid and Health
Partnership, and Medicaid Managed Care organizations on a variety of issues and their obligations under the law.
Courtney Carey received her BSW from Tarleton State University and her MS in Long Term Care, Senior Housing and Aging Services
from the University of North Texas. Courtney is also a Texas Certified Guardian. She has worked for Denton County MHMR for almost 18 years with both the Mental Health and
IDD services. Courtney is the Administrator of Provider Services which encompasses the Denton County Guardianship Program and the Home and Community Based Services (HCS)
Medicaid Waiver Program. Both are a provider of last resort for Denton County.
Travis Weaver is an attorney with Travis Firm Attorneys in Rhome, Texas who provides his community with deep legal knowledge
and strong personal commitment to helping obtain nursing home benefits, protect assets through a will, claim ownership of inherited property or cash, and negotiate

Program Description: As the Covid-19 pandemic reshapes companies, healthcare leaders must think beyond mere survival and
consider opportunities uncovered by the crisis. For example, focusing on retaining and hiring gifted people is a worthy strategy in many cases. Recruiting and retention
strategies during COVID-19 are changing and leaders have to be creative in how they attract, recruit, hire and retain talent.
Program Learning Objective(s): Participants will actively engage in the learning activity by identifying the key principles to
caregiver retention during a crisis and the key traits to harness to successfully lead through a crisis.
